The program entitled "Princes and Thieves: Settlement of the Alabama Territory after the War of 1812" by Mary Ann Neeley, Montgomery's unofficial historian, author, and noted lecturer. Mrs. Neeley was presented The Spirit of 1812 Award. State Representative Connie Grund, AL Chair of The Spirit of 1812 Awards Committee, joined Chapter President Dolly Butler in presenting the beautiful Medal and Certificate to Mrs. Neeley. Bonnie Shanks, chapter Historian recommended Mrs. Neeley for the award.
